The Total Cost of a trip is usually much larger than the total cost of an item because trips/vacations require us to make several purchases at once. For example, we often need to pay for all of: transportation, accommodation, food and souvenirs.
After calculating the Total Cost of the trip I would like to go on, I answered questions that generate a DIMS - Does It Make Sense?® SCORE (from 1-10). My answers to these questions can be found below. Young people are encouraged to consider trips that generate a DIMS SCORE® of 8 or higher. As you can see, my "thoughtfully preferred" trip scored 8. Can we talk?
Could we also share this report with my grandparents, aunts, and uncles? They might prefer to contribute to the cost of this trip for an upcoming holiday or birthday gift, rather than buying smaller items that may not be as appreciated.
